Black Fives x PUMA

Black Fives x PUMA

Dear Friend,

To kick off Black History Month, I'm hyped to announce that the Black Fives Foundation has teamed up with the global sports company PUMA for a long term partnership in support of Black history education reform.

We research, preserve, showcase, teach and honor the pre-NBA history of African Americans in basketball as a 501-c-3 nonprofit.

Black Fives x PUMA will amplify this important history through difference-making initiatives as well as special apparel and footwear collections with popular PUMA styles featuring vintage graphics and logos maintained by the Foundation, including our trademarked slogan, “Make History Now.”

These will be available starting February 12 at PUMA.com, the PUMA NYC Flagship Store, selected USA/worldwide retailers, and at our own new online fan shop, opening soon.

I'm proud and honored to partner with PUMA toward making a meaningful, long-lasting difference in expanding Black history education to include the pioneering African American teams, players, and contributors who helped pave the way for today's game.

Specifically, we're planning a new virtual museum with PUMA as its presenting sponsor. This online portal will allow visitors to see, learn, and be inspired by the history of the Black Fives Era of basketball through nearly 1,000 artifacts in our historical archive, including vintage equipment, ticket stubs, game gear, images, scorecards, and more.

And we're planning for these to be education-ready, for teachers to upload right into their distance-learning classrooms. Our new "Virtual Vault" is set to launch later this year.

We have more work ahead and we will still need your help, but partnering with PUMA is a big step. We've created a special landing page (link below) with more info in case you'd like to share this news with your friends.
